{"id":1418,"date":"2015-04-22T19:09:52","date_gmt":"2015-04-23T00:09:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chicagoeft.com\/?p=1418"},"modified":"2015-04-22T19:09:52","modified_gmt":"2015-04-23T00:09:52","slug":"are-you-there-for-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/degeneral.davidkim.net\/?p=1418","title":{"rendered":"Are You There for Me?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past eight years of involvement in EFT trainings, I\u2019ve heard a wide variety of ways that people learn of the model: a conference workshop, a one-day training, a course in grad school, etc., But after all this time, I still hear people mention an article Sue Johnson wrote for the\u00a0<em>Psychotherapy Networker<\/em>\u00a0in 2006, \u00a0back when it was still called the\u00a0<em>Family Therapy Networker<\/em>. Sue describes her early efforts to understand couple conflict and the eventual recognition that it comes out of a rupture to couples\u2019 attachment bond. She goes on to say that she learned to closely track process in the moment and that key to lasting change was helping partners access and share vulnerable emotions. The resulting\u00a0endpoint of EFT is\u00a0re-establishment of a strong emotional bond that helps couples work through conflict more easily, deepen felt security and added resilience to handle the inevitable bumps and potholes of couple life. It\u2019s still a great intro to EFT with couples and if you\u2019re already well acquainted, a good reminder.
